such fun

We've had some busy, busy days here. This past weekend, we had visitors - mom's friend Bonnie and her 2 kids, Nathan (4) and Nora (2). The kids played very well together, and there was only minimal confusion over having 2 Nora/h's in the house. We took the visitors sledding and playing in the deep backyard snow. We had lots of fun - but next time, we go to visit them ;) Especially if it's still winter.

Isaac got his first skating badge last night. He was so proud when he got off the ice, badge in hand. He is really doing well.

The kids got to attend the big Literacy Day event in town yesterday. There were puppet shows, singing, balloon animals, storytelling and snacks. Lots of fun, even if it ran during naptime. They had a great time.

The days are flying by, it seems. The mornings are getting lighter, and the days are ever so slightly longer. January is goning by so quickly.

it's cold

Ok, we had a huge blizzard yesterday. It's now very cold as the after effects of the blizzard linger. For our friends and family in Vancouver - stop whining! ;) It's -35 here today, with a wind chill of -47. We are the cold spot in the province today.

Rob is very glad he was out doing a funeral yesterday, in the blowing, swirly snow and wind chills of only-34 instead of today.

SLEDDING!

I took the kids sledding yesterday. Dorothy called and said she was heading out with one of her granddaughters, so we gladly joined in. One of the elementary schools has a perfect size hill for littler kids, as opposed to the "Big Hill" in town. What a blast! It was just below freezing, with not too sharp of a wind. Norah had a few runs, and then went to slide at the playground next to the hill, and Ruby hung out in the baby sled. Isaac started out somewhat cautious, and then turned into a little daredevil! He even did his last run of the day on his hands and knees in the sled! note in one of the videos the 'jump' he takes. He loved that jump.

Then we came home for hot chocolate and exciting stories to share with daddy.
