Norah and Isaac like to play hide and go seek. Norah's version of counting:
"1, 2, 3, 11, 9 - here I come!"

Isaac went with Rob to the second service last Sunday. They were given some chocolates. Rob put them in his shirt pocket...where they melted on the way home (ick!). Isaac wanted them after supper. Rob told him they were gone. Isaac was so upset, and did his 'slightly too dramatic for the circumstances' cry. Then informed us that "I'm so sad, I can't stop crying. I'll be crying when I wake up, I'm so sad". Wow, and that's just over a chocolate! Hard to hide that we're laughing at him.

Isaac has mastered the pedals on his bike. Today, he rode his bike to the mailbox while I had the girls in the stroller. He was fantastic! One small glitch when he had a little fall on the corner on the sidewalk. Only damage was him breaking his front reflector. What a big boy!

more on the recent visit

Our children had such fun with Garth and Mary, or as Norah called them "Garmary". New adults to read with, play with, cuddle and kiss. Fun all around.

Garth changed some of our light fixtures while he was here. We are finally free of the horrible flourescents in the basement playroom, and our 3 year old fixture has finally made it's way into the dining room. Yay! Now to plan paint colours for the playroom...

A wonderful visit with friends is also a sad reminder of how far friends and family are from here. A few night's visit takes so much more than a simple drive on the #1 or a fight through city traffic. It's sad to think about how many moments we are missing out on being together with those we love, and hopefully love us too. It's hard to capture all the memorable moments of our children's days in our own minds, let alone bring them to life on the blog. We're thankful for the modern times of instant messaging, cheap long distance and blogging, yet it isn't fully a replacement for in person laughs, hugs and cups of coffee.

Note the use of the words "can't" and "cause". Superbunny is of unknown origin, and only comes out after bath time. Superbunny is particularly fond of the circuit through the living/dining room and kitchen.

Climby McClimberson part 2

The proud big siblings. Norah is wearing a hand me down from Grace, it's now her favourite shirt EVER. It's her 'posickle' shirt.

She's climbing anything and everything now. She is almost able to get into the bathtub by herself, and is fond of getting up on Norah's bed and bouncing around. The slide downstairs is only a challenge on the way down - she has yet to master 'feet first'. Stairs, low furniture...all no challenge for this girl!

Hay Maze!

While in Saskatoon, the kids got to take a trip to an indoor hay maze. Perfect for little ones Isaac and Norah's age, and lots of fun. It was way too hot in there though, as you can see by the overly pink cheeks...or was that from all the running and giggling?

I just walked into the girls room. Found Ruby, knee deep in clothes, and happily pulling more out of the girls dresser. Would have made a cute photo.

Instead, it's a mess. :)

back from the city. Rob had a good clergy retreat week. We had some fun in town. Isaac is now the proud owner of a pair of ice skates and helmet AND a snowsuit. I was thrilled to find a snowsuit that was NOT navy/orange or khaki/camo. It's green and grey. :) The ice skates freaked him out a bit. At the store, the man that was fitting him for the skates had him get up and walk around the store, and Isaac kept saying "I'm going to fall everywhere! Everywhere!!". He didn't.

We had fun in a hay maze, pics to come. Got the Christmas portraits done. Bought the outfits for Christmas too. It's all good. And now we're home, getting ready for Thanksgiving. Our 'new' twist on pumpkin pie is in the freezer right now.
